Greetings from Mordor! (aka Brisbane on a very hot, steamy day)

I'm one of VA's newest Gold members, unexpectedly comped up by 5 SCs just before Christmas, months earlier than I expected to fly next. I had only reached Silver for the first time in September and experienced my first ever business class flights in October BNE-PER return (upgraded from flexi using my 2 silver lounge passes and not many points!).

I only need 500 SCs to reach WP by midyear and, with all the good advice here, that doesn't seem so daunting. Seems like a vibrant and helpful community.
