WOW!, i do hope these prices are like this mid next year!!!!!! fingers crossed!

This sale also covers some other destinations in the US. I was looking yesterday at MEL-MCO in 3 weeks time and it came up as $900 incl tax. I'm still debating whether I could survive that far in UA economy.

I can't see it ever getting much cheaper than this :!:

Probably too late to take advantage of any of these, but would these sales opened up a way to get *G cheaply?

Or is the fare code too cheap to earn status on any *A carrier at all (except for UA)?

K class, so should earn 100% in most *A programs. You should get at least 20k for SYD-JFK (return).

40k in 24 months into Asiana Club will give you *G gold for 48+1 months. Alternatively, UA is offering TEQM till Oct 15. You'll only get DEQM on this fare though.

NB, the fare sale was supposed to end last Monday on 10 Aug.
