The controllers must be bored, both 16L and 34L are being used for departures!

Interesting. Would make for some good photos if they could time two departures at the same time.

Maybe a Red DJ 737 on 16L and VA's White A330 on 34L ?

Maybe they were spreading the aircraft noise?? Was interesting to watch with a departure on 16L with an arrival on 34L!

Happened on landing today.. I was coming in from CBR and (I dont know which one is which) We were landing left and a QF 767 was taking off over the bay on the right.. Seemed odd.

Any guesses why? Trial? Issues to one end of the runways? For fun (kidding)? Noise minimisation?Winds must have been pretty light.

Takeoffs occurring on the newer botany bay runway while landings occur in the opposite direction on the old botany bay runway! Here is an example around 3.45PM today from CASAs WEBTRAK site:

Landed on the main runway tonight (light load 767), coasted at reasonable speed the entire length and taxied off at the very last exit into bay 4 or 5 - cool! No (little) brakes and no reverse thrust

Exactly what we had, smoothest landing I've ever had.

In saying that, taking off from the new one and the right hand turn is a little sharp .

SODROPS (Simultaneous Opposite Direction Runway OPerations)

Landed on 25 on Monday afternoon for the first time in ages (in a Q400). Feels a bit weird on approach :)

16R also seemed to be in use at the time.
