HI All, im going to be in USA in July and have most of my travel sorted. However i have a 9 day period starting 14th July where i will be in LAX until 22nd July where i depart LAX to go back home to Melb.

Now during those 8 days i will probably have a LAX-SFO return flight to visit some friends, but have a few free days which i would like to do a status run.

Those instant upgrade fares on aa.com, are they classed as First Class status credits on QF? Or what would be a good little 1 full day travelling to rack up some SC"s cheap?

CHeers!

It's by segment.

Those specific segments that book into A, P or F on AA flight numbers should earn First Class SC's.

I've booked in sfo-lax-sea-lax-sfo in august, seems like a pretty good deal for a day trip. About $700 for 300 SCs. It'll be my first pure status run, looking forward to it :)

I imagine you should be able to get lax-sfo-sea-sfo-lax for a similar cost.
