Hello everyone!
I'm Kim and I'm from Adelaide. I've stumbled across AFF and this forum in planning for my upcoming trip to the USA and gaining a lot of knowledge.
I'll be flying Qantas and have been umming and ahhing about purchasing Qantas Club membership *purely* to get lounge access at LAX before the long flight home - crazy right?!

Thanks for having me!

Welcome @kjn. There’s nothing quite like solo travel - I’m sure you’ll have a great trip. 😊🤠

As to whether it’s worth buying a Qantas Club membership just to use a lounge once - I think you already know the rational answer to that ;)

I would suggest finding a way to get a Qantas lounge pass (eg through Points Club or a credit card) if you just want one visit - unfortunately the complimentary Qantas lounge invitations aren’t accepted in LAX.

Who knows - if you do buy Qantas Club, you might end up getting hooked and using it more than you expected!

Welcome on-board fellow Adelaidean!
You may find that thread of interest
At the current public offering of $600 plus joining fee $99, the AFF corporate scheme would be a better financial proposition.

Alternatively leave the purchase til just before you need use it so that at least you know you’ll get a year from then.
Not a lot of point in signing up early

Definitely know the rational answer. Yes, I have two lounge passes already that I will use at SYD and BNE so Qantas Club would be purely used for LAX 😅

I was hoping they would have another half price sale before I leave but were 10 weeks out from trip so I'm not liking my chances.

Depending on the length of your trip
You can sign up “while on the road” thus giving you a few extra weeks to hope for a 50% off offer

Welcome to AFF.

What day do you fly out of LAX? If it is same day as me I could probably guest you in one solo traveller to another.

Ah I fly out 30th August

Keep you eye on the Im in the Lounge thread there may be another AFFer with lounge access flying out that day that can guest in you since there are SYD, MEL and BNE departures
