Upgrade after issue of Boarding pass Singapore Airlines SIN/CDG

Looking for some expert advice on Upgrading to Premium Economy/Business on Singapore Airlines after issue of Boarding pass.

Ran into some difficulties with this as it is an APT booking handled through a travel agent. Looked on WEBJET and S/A had a special on our flight SQ0336 13/09/16 on premium economy for only a few dollars more than their advertised economy ticket. Also enquired about similar upgrade on SQ325 30/09/16.

The travel agent was not overly helpful and quoted $2000 per person for both flights. This appears to be way over the top according fare shown on WEBJET. Her answer when informed of this "you just might be better off loosing your current ticket and repurchase" - far from impressed.

My QUESTION is can anyone offer a better and more economical way to do this?

Have tried via APT but they say that I must go back through the travel agent and the agent says she must go back to APT.

Tried direct with Singapore Airlines and had a sympathetic ear from a helpful agent but unable to assist as booking was made via a T/A.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi VicB, I assume you have the E-Ticket not the actual boarding pass. We have done a few APT trips and have always had mild difficulty getting a good price for airfares in PE and J; since APT gets such a good deal from the airlines and give us a very low tour credit if we book our own flights. We are flying to Singapore and Mandalay on 14/9/16 and doing the Myanmar cruise to Yangon with APT. Maybe you are on the same trip? APT had, and maybe still has, a special in J with SIA for an additional $2995 pp so it might be worth asking the TA to see if APT has any special for PE on your flight. We booked our trip directly with APT and find them very helpful but for obvious reasons they will not deal direct if you have booked with a TA. We thought the J option was well priced and booked it. Maybe one of the AFF experts has a better solution.

Thank you for your response. You are correct regarding the E-Ticket. We have tried through T/A and the price they are asking is more than if we booked a PE ticket direct with SA or WebJet?
