I am booked in economy on a singapore - london flight tonight (saturday 27 october).. i just found out my upgrade request was declined. this sector is part of a ticket from melbourne - london return.

i have noticed quite a few BA award flights available in business class for next week and it's very tempting to figure out a way i can just do this... but if i miss this segment tonight i will forfeit the rest of my ticket, right??

is there any way i can miss my flight tonight (and purchase a BA business seat with points for next week) without the rest of my ticket being cancelled? any tips??

also..... since my upgrade on QF 9 didn't come through.......Is there any chance I could be put into a business class seat on one of the other qantas or ba flights going from singapore to london tonight??? Any tips??

thanks.

If you just miss the flight, then the rest will be cancelled.

Unless the upgrade gods find favour with you and choose tonight to bestow an involuntary upgrade upon you, then you will be in economy. The airport will not just give you the points upgrade themselves

In any normal circumstances this is absolutely correct; you really need something like a plane going U/S or oversold economy cabin.

Given that E/F is showing F9 A9 J9 C9 D0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 R9 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 the latter is very unlikely to happen.

The former can sometimes:

&

But even then you generally need a high status level.
