Upgrade from paid PE to J - SYD-SIN-MXP

Hi all, I have a friend considering the following: Being a EY flyer my knowledge is limited on SQ. Can anyone please confirm this is the process:

1, Paying cash SYD-SIN-MXP in premium
2, move enough points to KF for upgrade
3, Go to KF, put in PE booking ref and either book J if available or wait-list for J if that's only option.
4, Will there be an option to pick legs separately for upgrade or is it all or nothing?
5, Pax has zero status with SQ.

6, KF points required for SYD-SIN
7, KF points for SIN-MXP

8, Any special requirements for ticket booking class?

I will try to advise but with zero knowledge of up-grading comm tix purchases - so pls advise your friend to call KF on the number repeatedly posted elsewhere - 02 8228 1188 - they will always have final say:

2, move enough points to KF for upgrade Absolutely you must have sufficient KF pts in your account before attempting any rdpt books / upgrade
3, Go to KF, put in PE booking ref and either book J if available or wait-list for J if that's only option. YES
4, Will there be an option to pick legs separately for upgrade or is it all or nothing? NO TBMK - if you WL upgrade for multi sector booking there is no gurarantee upgrade will confirm for all sectors - if one sector confirms I would assume it is then considered 'mixed class' upgrade - 'mixed class' rdpts price at highest class lever for ALL sectors - highest class privileges on that booking also apply for ALL sectors - I assume would be same for upgrades but not 100% sure - so YES I think it would be all or nothing but I seriously do not know - call KF and ask that specific question.
5, Pax has zero status with SQ. Makes no never mind - I too am gutter class and makes no never mind when booking - if you hold status yes you do go to front of line on WL.

8, Any special requirements for ticket booking class? Not relevent - upgrades will book into one specific class - no idea what that it is
