upgrade on BA

Not as far as i am aware, like Qantas you can only use your points from the same airline as the flight is with. Even if its a code share.

So if i fly BA7310 SIN-MEL (BA codeshare on QF10) then i still cant use QF points to upgrade.

I don't think you can; I believe that only Asia Miles and BA miles can be used for this

I really wouldnt be bothering with upgrading one of the European BA routes anyway. The seats are exactly the same as economy other than adjusted to provide a wider sitting area

If you make sure to get a seat in the front half of the plane you will have the same legroom as in business

I did not read the segment details and computer ;)
I will also echo Dave's comment about European internal BA flights, no real point upgradeing. Not like Australia where we have real business class in a lot of our planes.

Although Club Europe catering is better than QF Domestic J. Hardly worth the point spend on a short trip like that, although Club Europe is a lot cheaper than comparable QF Domestic J (as it should be). Good for SC earns.

Better food in Club Europe ??? hmmmm... not from my LHR-STR flights that is the one i woud do most....
But your right sometimes they can be had as nice and cheap seats :)

And you can understand why they have to sell them that cheap - Club Europe is in need of a bit of an overhaul.

I wonder if we might start to see similar discount J on the odd QF domestic flights as the GFC deepens and demand for domestic J drops?

Thanks all. My main reason for wanting to upgrade was the luggage allowances! We are travelling Business with JAL but have a week or so in London before joining a river cruise in Vienna.
Guess I can pay the extra luggage fee.

Vienna was one of our favourite European locations. I hope you have a great time!
