Upgrade SC and Cabin Question

Hi everyone,

I'm the lucky recipient of the double SC for now and have been doing a bucket load of Dom Y and Y- travel to get bronze to silver and am just shy of Gold since my renew on April 1st this year.

I thought I'd use some points to upgrade to J on a Brisbane return to Sydney earlier this week and having just checked my QFF account - I haven't received either a cabin bonus or SC's earned at J for either leg? Did I miss something, Do point upgradeflights earn only at the original ticket class of Y?

Shame as I was going to upgrade for both Perth and Adelaide trips next week. Guess its back to Y for me.

Wow 600SC's in 3 months all Dom Y or Y- . I really need to get a life. Platinum by Oct, maybe even 2400 by 30th of March 2012. Wife would love PG.

Yep Andrew, afraid your statement is correct, SCs/points are only earned on the original paid class of travel...points upgrades will not alter the number of SCs earned or get you a points cabin bonus.

PS. Nice going on the rapid SC earn anyway.

Points are only earnt in the class paid for. Upgrades do not upgrade the earn.

I recently flew a trip that was upgraded from Y to Y+ with points. I got 80 SCs for it when Y normally gets 40 for and then I got an 80SC double promo bonus on top of it. I didn't expect that, but nor am I complaining!

There are always exceptions to the rules, but you shouldn't rely on them in the future. Most falsely believe they'll get the upgraded points/SC's because of Jetstar ODU's in the past giving them.

No, no reliance here. I'm taking it as a one time bonus and not expecting to see it again.
