I am booked to fly MEL-BNE on a VA flight. I have the option to attempt to upgrade to Business using points. Currently it says I can join the "Waitlist Upgrade to Business".
It also says "The seats you currently have will be removed for any flights you choose to upgrade." I have Economy X exit roll seat so I'd rather not lose it during an unsuccessful attempt at upgrading.
Intuitively one would think you would only lose the seat if the upgrade is successful. But I can also see the other rationale that VA wants to make the Economy X seat available ASAP so they can start selling it to others immediately....
So. Does anyone know for sure if I join the UpgradeMe Waitlist, whether I will immediately lose my Economy X seat selection? Thanks in advance.
