Can anyone tell me how the upgrade thing works if you're a Qantas FF booked on a BA flight with a QF call number? Does the upgrade system work the same - just looking at the loads for the BA flights compared to the QF flights on the day I'm travelling between LHR and SIN and notice that BA operated flights have a lot of spare seats whereas Qantas ones have very few. Wondering if it's worth booking on BA flights for that leg of the journey in future as might have more chance of an upgrade...

You can only upgrade with points when travelling on QF flight numbers on Qantas metal.

So, you won't be able to upgrade with Qantas points on a BA flight number or BA metal.

Do you access to Expert Flyer?Invaluable.Happy to check for you if you supply flight details

Thanks. I've been accessing free a site called FlightStats to get my information about flight loads - my next flight is LHR-SIN QF10 on 19th Jul. I'm looking at booking my next AUS-UK flights and wanted to maximise my chances of a points upgrade! It just looks like the BA flights are generally much less busy than the Qantas flights on the same routes. The flights I took in May/June and then this last one last week were uncomfortably full.

What level QF status are you and what ticket class are you buying?May June is peak season.

I'm only Silver so I have to be a bit clever to get an upgrade... unfortunately I don't have any flexibility in when I travel. I'm looking at premium economy.

That flight is chockers, willsend through availability when I get onto the desktop, can't seem to copy paste at present on the Ipad.
