Upgrading a Navan Flight Booking - SC earn?

My company requires us to book economy seats via Navan for work travel. I noticed that Navan now gives us the option to upgrade the flight after it is booked and pay using a personal credit card.

The question I’ve got is if I pay for this upgrade will I earn SC at the original booking class (economy) or the new upgraded fare (first) - which I understand is equivalent to business in Qantas terms?

Has anyone done this before?

FYI I’m booking domestic AA flights in the US, but putting in my QFF number.

I amgoing to say you would earn at the upgraded fare class level.

Navanis simply acting as a travel agency of sorts for corporates, and thus dealing with commercial fares - even if corporate discounts and so on are applied.

This isn't an upgrade using points or mukes, but spunds like a buy up option using cash. So maybe go from a V fare to a I, for example.

Therefore I woukd assume it would earn for that booking class.

My only caveat to this is if the agency has a corporate deal with AA to offer these upgrades into U class whuch is a very different thing. My gut feel is this is not the case here though.

Best to verify with Avan ir your corporate travel manager uf these upgraded tuckets book into an eligible booking class, which for AA would be, for example, FAJCDIR (for 3 class First and 2 Class First/Business).
