Upgrading Gold Charge to Plat Charge - Transfer Ascent to Ascent Premium points

Hi there.

Great forums and information.

I am thinking of upgrading from a Gold Charge card to a Platinum charge.

I was wondering if it were possible to transfer Ascent MR points over to Ascent Premium MR points?
I have a few points built up that I would rather not lose altogether.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has tried this and has any advice.

Also wondering how best to defray the pain of the $1200 fee - as a current card holder, the sign on bonus of 100K+ MR points does not apply I believe.
Has anyone tried to upgrade from Gold to Plat and had them waive or reduce the fee, or add some MR points to sweeten the deal?To whom would it be best to speak?

I've got the gold and applied for platinum recently. Asked them to merge all my points and now all my cards earn ascent premium. Can keep ascent premium for as long as you have the platinum charge card.
Not sure they'd let you transfer products without a new application.
Common experience is you get the sign up points automatically - if you use a link from a friend or AFF, you might even get 120k MR points. Always a risk they will enforce the policy.
