Hi everyone,
Looking for advice - We are currently booked Y return SYD to JFK and have purchased exit row seats for the return leg (LAX to SYD section) which we have paid $160 x 2 for.
Would now like to take advantage of the J sale where we can book flights for $5599 each so would like to upgrade our flights. I rang up the call centre who advised that we could do this as long as we paid fees of $200 to change, $80 for assisted booking as well as losing our $320 exit row payments. I'm not sure if that is $280 each, I suspect it might be which would mean a total cost of $880 to upgrade which is still probably good value but I am keen to reduce if possible
I do understand the terms and conditions associated with all these fees and charges but was hoping for some advice on how I might get at least the exit row seat fees refunded considering I'm not now going to be using them. Can I do it all online or is there something I can say to the phone consultant that might at least get some of the fees waived.
