Upgrading red-e-deal to higher Y?

Anyone know if this is possible? Can you upgrade a N or O to say a K or some other fare bucket where you could then upgrade using points?

For the same route, you bring up the re e-deal booking online and select

Change Flights and off you go.

The original fare you paid (less a fee of $38.50) will be used as part credit to the new fare.

Well, you could cancel and then rebook with the $38.50 fee into a higher fare basis

thanks for the tips - none possible though, as silly me booked it thru QF Holidays and any changes have to be phoned in..

Really? Can't you just plug your Ref & Surname into qantas.com.au and then change it from there ?

I've done this in the past, from O (I think) to Y, on MEL-SYD-PEK return. The phone service centre was able to do it for $75 plus the fare difference.

no, button just does not appear. Read the FAQ and need to ring them on the 1300 number to make change or cancel!

All the more reason to avoid agents (Qantas or otherwise) when booking these basic fares.
