upgrading with $ on sq

The wife and I are headed to Thailand & Vietnam for a few weeks in December. Flights were booked and paid months ago through flight centre on Singapore airlines flying economy from Sydney.

Now the thought has occurred to.me for the possibility of flying business for both my wife and I. My question is what's my best way to get an upgrade to business? I have no points with sq, but am willing to pay. Is it best to call sq directly and what sort of ball park figure might expect per pearson?

AFAIK the only way to get J with SQ without points is to pay for it.

ODU is really only for budjet carriers or some of the US based carriers that are so desperate for cash they'll sell the unused J seats

It is the FULL difference between your economy fare and the business class fare. Unlike Thai, Etihad, Garuda, and many other carriers, there is no discounted on departure upgrades available. You would be looking at about $3000 each, and perhaps more to upgrade that ticket.
