Hello everyone

Recently I stumbled across a website called inflightfeed at airline food reviews, news and information for passengers which amongst other things reviews airline food.

One thing I learned which I did not know before is that if you are flying economy you can pay a little extra cash to have a business class meal. Great idea.

However then I thought - can you use frequent flyer points to pay for the meal upgrade?

Does anyone know which airlines allow you to upgrade your economy class meal using points? How many points does such an upgrade cost?

Thanks Peter

I believe Airberlin has started selling "upgraded" meals to passengers on long-haul flights. They actually look pretty good. Here's a photo I came across of the schnitzel served in economy class for 24 Euros:

(Here's a look to airberlin's full menu: https://www.ifleat.com)

I'm not sure about upgrading your meal with points. BA passengers can now use Avios to purchase buy-on-board food on EU short-haul flights, but the rates are pretty bad.
