US airpass options

Hi

I'll be travelling to the US from Europe in about May next year and have my RTW ticket which will take me to SFO. I didn't think too much when buying the ticket and have no other option for the US arrival point except for LAX. I want to travel to NYC, Las Vegas and Honolulu, before returning to SFO to fly back to Australia.

Does anyone have any suggestions on airpass options which would allow me to cover these four destinations without incurring outrageous expense? I'm a QF frequent flyer, as well as a (much newer) Star Alliance FF program member. All advice is appreciated.

From a oneWORLD perspective, you could investigate the oneWORLD Visit North America Pass.

However it may be more cost effective to check out specials on sites like aa.com or Zuji.com.

What type of RTW ticket are you travelling on? If a OneWorld Explorer, and if you have not used all 20 of your sectors, it may be cheaper to just make the changes to the ticket and have it re-issued. There is a re-issue fee, but it will likely be a lot less than the cost of buying separate tickets.

Also, if you can have the US sectors added to your RTW ticket, those sectors get the same baggage allowance as the rest of the trip - i.e. 2 x 32kg checked bags.
