Am looking for a status run leaving LAS on 9 Jan or 10 Jan - would like a 9 Jan late evening/midnight flight if possible, but the 10th is also OK.

I want to spend about a week in NYC and need to leave by the 19th, so am willing to stay in the status run destination for 1-2 nights to make that happen.

Was thinking of the standard LAS-ORD-MIA-SJU run, but it is giving me $604 one-way when I know other members have snagged returns for $700. The LAS-ORD run is also supposedly on an MD83, which I have never flown before but which I am assuming isn't a particularly comfortable experience since those planes are being retired by AA soon.

Does anyone else have any alternatives? Happy to do Dutch Antilles or some other destination, but was keen to join the SJU club. Looking to get about 300SC out of it.

PM with more info re: an SJU run. Dates will be tricky to SJU before Jan 14th... is it possible to move the run later in your itinerary? Alternatively, somebody else might have some more info with a different routing.

I should note that when I searched for LAX-AUS runs and AUS-NYC, I'm getting First Special fares showing which are usually cheaper than the Economy Savers, but I was wondering if there was something I was doing on AA website that meant the YUPP fares weren't showing, assuming a YUPP would be cheaper than a First Special?

I did Aruba, it was fantastic. If you do, look at areas around eagle beach. PM me.
