using Asia Miles

I am trying to book a flight from anywhere in Europe back to Perth from 24-31st Aug using Asia Miles. The flights coming up are with QATAR however the first leg to Doha is always full and closed even for wait-listing. I have tried about 12 major cities with the same result. Does anyone know if this is normal and if Qatar open up those seats nearer to the time? I haven't used Asia Miles before.
