Using disabled parking permit in the U.S

Does anyone know if a disabled parking permit from Australia is valid in the U.S . Planning on a trip there with my wife who suffered a stroke a number of years back and planning a 2 week driving holiday over there .

As in Australia, these things are handled by individual States, not by Federal authorities. So it'll vary state-to-state.

For those interested . Most states on the website freepyjamas informed me about you can use your disabled permit . The ones that were unsure of , i have received emails from stating you can .
