using frequent flyers at Christmas

Can anybody advise me if there is a blocked period to use Qantas Frequent Flyer points, as I would like to travel to Africa at Christmas, will they allow me to book at that time of the year?

There is no formal blackout, but to find award flights is likely to be hard due to the popularity for award use during the period to celebrate the midwinter's feast of the northern hemisphere. If you want to travel then , book early
