Using Krisflyer lounges as a Velocity Platinum member whilst earning Krisflyer miles

Hi All,

Will I be able to enter SIA lounges as a Velocity Platinum member but earning Krisflyer miles on the flight?

In May I'm travelling to the US via Singapore on SIA. As a Velocity Platinum member I can use the SIA lounges but because I feel that it's better for me to earn Krisflyer miles on this journey (as the flight doesn't contain eligible Velocity sectors as these can only be earned on Virgin Australia flights) I am entering my Krisflyer membership. The eligible sector restriction will probably cause me to lose my Platinum status next year as Virgin Australia doesn't fly to the US any more and that's where I flew most.
I am only a basic Krisflyer member so that wouldn't get me into the lounge.

Can anyone tell me if having the Krisflyer membership on my boarding pass will negate my ability to enter any SIA lounge?
Thanks.

It was fine for me a couple of months ago in Sydney and Singapore - KF number on boarding pass, just showed VFF Gold card and was welcomed in.
