We recently got back from a trip from Perth/Hong Kong/Vancouver and return. On the A330 from Perth to Hong Kong we used our Bose Noise Cancelling headphones as usual but on the A350 from Hong Kong to Vancouver could not get them to plug in and realised when looking at the Cathay-supplied noise cancelling headphones (in Premium Economy) that one prong is longer than the other. Since we got back, I have googled this and believe that the longer prong is to power the noise cancelling.
Can anybody tell me if there is a way we can use our Bose headphones on this aircraft? Bit annoying as the Cathy headphones are nothing like as comfortable or effective as the Bose. I can't seem to find an adapter that looks like the one we would need.
Did I miss something obvious?

On some airlines you'll just need t use the single prong. The Bose Noise Canceling headphones don't need power they have a battery. Not sure on the A350 though.

I should have also said that i do realise i dont need to plug them in for the noise cancelling. Just to listen to AVOD.
I didn't think to try the single prong! Duh.

Not only is one longer - they are different diameters. Can confirm using Bose Noise cancelling headphones on a Cathay A350 that you don't use the adapter and two prongs - just plug the single plug into the socket that it fits.
