I know a business that use directors QFF points to redeem flights for business travelling.

Does anyone know if Qantas ever check the validity of the relationship?

I knew a bloke who was buying his workers flights for quite some time - it stopped suddenly, I dont know if it was a QF thing or not but he was pretty cagey about it afterwoods and didn't fly QF for a while!

:)

Personally - I think if I earn them, I have earned the right to give them to whomever I want

I believe that they do check sometimes ; a company using it in this way would seem to be setting itself up for problems. All it takes is for 1 person to contact QF about the booking and for it to become known that it is being provided by the company for those accounts being used to have repercussions

I have heard, not officially, that they conduct random checks on FF redemptions for pax other than the cardholder.

I have a friend (as I'm sure most people here do!) who has redeemed for non-relatives before both domestically and internationally and has also redeemed tickets for 'himself' domestically and just given them to a friend (the friend just checks in online/quick check and takes his FF card as a back up as QF, JQ and DJ are pretty lax at checking photo ID anymore).

I guess the risk is there that if you are caught the consequences are unknown.... unless anyone can confirm otherwise. It could range from a warning to your account being cancelled....

My previous business did this in NZ - quite a large business as well...
