hi, wifey and i are both Virgin Plats, and have accrued over 700,000 points, havent flown Qantas or Jetstar in many a moon. Anyways an industry/trade promo/ competition netted us 200,000 QFF points (we actually had to go and join QFF so we were able to get the points!!!), have no real desire to fly Qantas and use the points that way (for one thing no status with them) so was wondering if its possible to use those points to "purchase" accommodation in the USA for our holiday next March!!?!?... if not might just ebay them lol!! (im sure thats illegal too!!!), thanks in advance darren

thanks for that, i havent clicked on your link yet, but im presuming international accommodation "purchases" are ok!?

you can not sell QFF points however you are able to do a family transfer Bro!!

With 200K you could try and book 2 x one way business class tickets to the USA ;) You will still have 8,000 points change ;) I think that's worth much more than any hotel you are thinking to pay using those same points. And return back using some of your other 700K points. With hotels, you can stay at same very good places for not very much money ..... it doesn't take alot of research to get some good deals out there.

Regardless if you covert these points or not, try to maximise their use by always doing the simple points over $$$ cost benefits analysis , and life will always treat you kinder.

I had 500k in SAA points. Thought I would lose them. Got three J class tickets to Rome!! When I wanted to fly. So they are never surplus stock.

hey thanks all, looked at J seats on Qantas, came back @ 500,000 per sector, am I missing something for the 200,000 with 8,000 left over!!!... its true though accommodation value thru QFF blows, so may just have to suck it up @ some stage and fly Qantas to somewhere!!!

200000 will get you quite a few J flights in Australia, or just redeem them for gift cards.

(we actually had to go and join QFF so we were able to get the points!!!)
