So I have a rather unusual situation which I can't really get my head around. I have booked for January a BA flight from an EU city to London (about a 13 hour layover in London) followed by QF2 to Singapore. The entire ticket is EU-LHR-SIN booked through Qantas.
This was booked back in May and then about a month ago I received a schedule change from BA moving the flight forward by 35 minutes. The flight number remained the same. There was no option to accept the change on the Qantas website it just said note the new times. A couple of days ago I noticed a further schedule change on QF2 this time moving back 5 minutes, now on the Qantas website (and BA website) it was showing both those flights with new times although both still showed the status as confirmed. There was no option to even acknowledge the changes.
Now just tonight after seeing all the schedule change Qantas issues I thought I'd try my booking reference on the Qatar website at which it showed the booking as "partially confirmed" and a yellow box at the top with an acknowledge changes button. I obviously clicked it and shortly after received an automated email from Qatar with an eticket attached and new ticket numbers (although still on 081 stock).
Now opening up my booking on the Qantas and BA website all flights are showing as confirmed (and the change notification box has gone). Checking on the RJ/UL website shows the new ticket numbers with todays date however on the Qantas website when requesting itinerary I get an email with the old e ticket attached.
Now I'm so confused as to
- Why Qantas wouldn't let me acknowledge the changes (regardless of how small they were)?
- Why I was able to acknowledge changes on the Qatar website and then instantly get new ticket numbers?
- Why the Qantas website is still sending the old eticket when I click request itinerary (is it cached somewhere)?
At the end of the day I'm not too concerned given it's a paid cash ticket however it's just mind boggling how complicated this has become.
