I am just wondering what may happen to seat requests that have been requested by a status PAX for non or lower status PAX and then the status PAX has to change/ cancel their flight but the non status PAX will still travel. As an example I will normally link my booking to Mrs&MissM to get them into R1 or R4 when we travel domestic. If I have to change or cancel my booking will they automatically lose the seats I have requested for them or do they remain in place.

They keep their allocated seat IME. Have had this exact scenario a few times.

As with PF above, I've also had this scenario a couple of times over the years and each time the non status pax kept their seats.

However if the non status pax wants to change their seat after the bookings have been separated then they will only see what‘s available to their status available for selection. Though for P1s like you you’d be able to choose the best seats on the plane in each cabin class that are available at the time of booking so they shouldn’t need to do that.

In my case not only did Mrs QS keep her J seat on row 11 A380 but as soon as the flight took off she was invited to Row 5🎖. Whereas I who paid for the flights and got the status the hard way never did when I flew out the next day.

At least she thinks my status had something to do with it. But unfortunately expectations are then raised….
