I understand V Australia just expands Etihad codeshare to Europe. It is now possible to purchase flights to Europe via V Australia's website. However, at this stage, its not possible to book reward flights to Europe on Velocity's website. Does anyone know when this service will likely to become available?

I also noticed V Australia flight is little bit more expensive ($20) than its code share Etihad flights. Interesting.

They currently have preliminary approval for the partnership. I expect when they have full approval award flights wont be far behind.

It has been noted that Y fares were cheaper on the VA codeshare, while J and F were more expensive, I’m not sure if this has changed.

You have to call Velocity customer service to check availability at this stage. However, you can check online for availability for V Australia's flight to US and South Africa.

And the new VA operated flights (VA29 & VA30) to Abu Dhabi

There has never been a verified, successful redemption of a Velocity (non-VB, Non-VA) award flight. Good marketing though, the old "bait 'n switch".

Has there ever been a codeshare agreement that would allow this previously:?:

I think the answer is "yes, all of them".

But maybe I do not understand your question. My point was that it was almost impossible to redeem Velocity points onto Emirates or Malaysian Airlines flights - even though the program states that you can. I had never been successful and I was curious to see if others had been.

For example I could redeem QF points for a Delhi-Helsinki flight on Finnair even though they are not a codeshare of QF.

I'm going to be flying to Europe with Etihad in February. Will there be an advantage to flying the connecting CBR-SYD leg to meet my flight with Virgin Blue... (does Qantas still have some sort of agreement with Etihad?)

I believe the Qantas partnership ends this month.
