Just came across this on FT, which points to V Australia press release

Virgin Blue’s international airline, V Australia, and US based award winning airline, Virgin America, have signed an Australia-U.S interline agreement offering seamless travel on the networks of each carrier and across the trans-Pacific route.

And of interest to velocity members

Guests will later this year be able to earn Velocity Points when flying on Virgin America and will also be able to redeem Velocity Points for flights on Virgin America.

Also appears that VX will be brought into the VA/VS RTW fare.

Soiunds brilliant.

I was at a ski promo last night with ski lift company owners and reps from France, Japan: the US & Canada (Branson's idea of flying Sydney to Hanuba sounds brilliant. btw) If CrazyDave is out there, I arranged my Vaust flight a while back and would love to add LA to San Fran return if there'd be no extra fee for a 'one ticket all the way' ticket. Will that be possible? I know of others who are keen to add Salt Lake City & Seattle. Otherwise, they're flying Southwest (mainly because of the no hidden fees policies eg for ski bags)

One of the latest V Australia promo fares is Brisbane to Seattle for about $1300.00 one US domestic flight LAX-SEA was on AS (Alaska Airlines) and the other way was VX (Virgin America)

I just bought Virgin America tickets LAX-SEA return for 4 pax. The website was asking for my Virgin America loyalty card number (Elevate) or asking me to join but I was wondering if it was compatible with Velocity (of which I am a member). Would it be a matter of saving the boarding passes or is there a chance that their program would recognise my Velocity number?

If there isn't an arrangement in place when the flights are taken you would be out of luck. If the arrangements are finalised before you take your flights I would ask them to enter the Velocity number at check in or call to have it added before the flight. Retrospective claims usually only apply to boarding passes for flights taken a certain period prior to you joining a FF scheme, not to a certain period prior to the partner airline joining the FF scheme. I could be wrong, but this is usually the case. Good luck though.

I have been waiting so long for velocity to link in with VX (have flights planned in october with VX).

No for NWA/Delta to be able to get points!

great news... even though I think I'll use up my DJ points before I leave, if I don't they won't be wasted it seems...
