V AUSTRALIA LAUNCHES TRAVEL AGENT PAYMENT AND SETTLEMENT PLAN WITH eNETT INTERNATIONAL
Monday 8 September 2008: Australia’s new international airline V Australia, today launched its own travel agent payment and settlement system called the V Australia Settlement Plan or “VSP”, in partnership with travel payment specialists eNett International.
In this industry-leading development, VSP will enable travel agents to seamlessly book and ticket V Australia flights from within the major Global Distribution Systems and settle payments directly with V Australia initially within Australia and New Zealand.
Brett Godfrey, Virgin Blue Chief Executive, said, “Together with eNett our team has developed a simple solution for agents when selling V Australia, with streamlined settlement and reconciliation and next day visibility of ticket sales through a dedicated portal.
“We had initially intended to work through IATA BSP, however as access was not available in the timeframe we required, we preferred to develop an independent solution.”
Andy McCreedy, Managing Director, eNett International, said, “We are delighted to partner with V Australia on this exciting and innovative industry development that challenges convention, and allows airlines to more effectively manage their travel agent partnerships without the constraints of traditional airline payment and settlement models.
“For the first time airlines can offer their travel agents a fully integrated payment and settlement tool at the point of sale with consultants no longer having to remember the latest airline deals, the VSP system simply applying these automatically. The solution facilitates credit card and cash settlement capabilities, additional collection and exchange functionality including ADM, ACM and refund processing with dynamic reporting of all their V Australia payment activity at both an individual agency and travel agency group level”.
VSP will operate in Australia and New Zealand and will be made available for all IATA and TIDS travel agents. V Australia has partnered with leading GDS providers Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre to deliver the payment solution.
