Hi All

I am quite surprised that 9 days out from their inaugral flight, VA are silent on their lounge offerings at SYD T1 and LAX. Has anyone heard anything regarding this?

Perhaps they will use the Malaysia Airlines or Emirates lounge at SYD?

Not sure about LAX.

They do indeed - but I don't think VA will use it as it is in a different terminal!

I thought all the V's were moving to the same terminal at LAX?

If not, then yes, the logistics of that could be a tad troublesome :p

Given the apparent tie up with AS, perhaps they'll be using the AS Board Room at T3?

Edit: turns out my guess was correct. From the Velocity - Status Benefits page:

^ Lounge access is available at Sydney International Terminal via Malaysian Lounge and at Los Angeles International Airport via Alaskan Lounge. Your Gold status allows you to take a travelling guest into the Lounge with you.

I wonder if you will be able to purchase a single visit day pass @ US$30 to the Alaskan Boardroom at LAX if flying VA?

Would you care to guess if The Lounge members will get access when flying VA?

The Lounge appears to be a vastly overpriced product, it has still not secured any access partners and worst of all - it appears VA isn't interested in supporting it either. (I think that mid-market, loyal Virgin Blue customers have the right to feel abandoned.)

The one shining light is the Perth announcement.

I also know people who Virgin Blue could have converted, after they signed up for 100,000point deal last year, who are not renewing.

I believe Priority Pass members can use them ...
Yes, so why buy The Lounge membership itself, when Priority Pass is around?

Qantas Club offers its members access to BA & AA lounges when travelling on those airlines. Qantas Club also offer access to Qantas Lounges when travelling JQ. However, The Lounge doesn't not provide any partner airline's lounge access. The Lounge members flying VA in Y, do not appear to get access to VAs partner lounges. The Lounge is not affiliated with Pacific Blue.

This is true. My PP cost US$249 for 10 visits plus paid access for a guest travelling with you. While PP holders can access The Lounge, this is not much help for an international flight at SYD where The Lounge is in T2 and int flights depart from T1. PP holders can access Alaska Airlines Board Room at LAX T3
