Maybe CrazyDave or someone can help me out here.

I've got about 160k Velocity points i haven't worked out what to do with. Based in MEL so wanted to look into VA options on the HKT and JNB routes.

Looking at the award calculator and trying a lot of random dates it appeared that the only seats available on both routes were "any seat" prices. I didn't see any dedicated reward seats?

Can anyone confirm whether there are reward seats (particularly cheap PE seats which is probably my aim) on either route? If there's not is it because they've never been loaded or because they're all snapped up?

thanks!

I am advised by the Velocity team: "We will have Reward Seats available from Wed 26-Aug for MEL-JNB, MEL-HKT and BNE-HKT"

cheers

Cheers CrazyDave98,

That is good news for Velocity members with large points in the bank. (Sadly, I am not one of them)

PER-HKT is loaded, with a "special" of 38,900 one-way (corresponding to a $299 fare). This seems a bit expensive to me, given that PER-KUL return on MH is 45,000.

Hey Dave, i just checked in (from the Brisbane DJ lounge) and still no reward seats on random dates for JNB or HKT from early to mid next year? Are they are up yet?

Was that a reward seat or a anyseat?

I breifly found reward seats for mel-jnb in mid may. They were 47000 each way, which is the same as mel-lax

I don't think that are set up correctly.

For example vaustralia from syd - lax is 94000 plus taxes (which can be paid in cash or in points)

The same goes with perth - coughet. According to the website, the reward fare is 6900 points plus $350 in taxes or 51900 points including taxes.

This is kinda stupid, considering how the taxes for mel-coughet is $224, so im guessing that there is an error of some kind coz it just doesnt add up.
