V AUSTRALIA TO SHOWCASE FIRST 777 AIRCRAFT TO STAFF BUSHFIRE FUNDRAISER EVENT AT BRISBANE AIRPORT
V Australia will turn its staff “show and tell’ of the airline’s brand new 777-300ER aircraft this weekend into a fundraising event to raise funds for the Victoria Bushfires Relief Appeal.
The airline will host more than 1900 team members and their families at an aircraft open day which will be the first opportunity for the majority of the airline’s office staff and crew members to see “Didgeree Blue” following its arrival from the Boeing factory in the USA earlier this week.
Hotdog stands will be set up at the event and all proceeds from the day will be combined with the $100,000+ already raised by staff, crew and Virgin Blue Guests over the past week via in-flight and office collections.
V Australia will be the only Australian airline to fly 777-300ER aircraft and will launch services between Australia and the USA on the 27 February. The V Australia aircraft has a number of unique features ranging from a female only toilet, a starry ceiling, Australiana animals and symbols on the wallpaper as well as quirky catchphrases on the crockery. The special design elements were created by the Virgin Blue and V Australia teams in conjunction with manufacturer Boeing and staff will see it for themselves for the first time this weekend.
The aircraft has a total of 361 seats, including 33 in Business Class, 40 in Premium Economy and 288 in Economy Class.
