HOPEFULLY - Lifetime Platinum/Gold Status after 10 or 15 year continuous membership - AT LAST!

I've had lifetime Star Alliance Gold for 15 years, and these things many folks work VERY hard at attaining and spend MONEY doing it! Aspirational. One of the big weaknesses of the Velocity scheme now.

Roight now, no special reason to stay loyal year after year. Wonder if Qatar AVIOS has such a plan?

Edit for context - this thread was spun off from the QR equity stake thread

I don’t know why there’s social media hype for an equity stake. That alone should have zero impact to the customer. I bet most airline pax don’t have a clue who owns the airline they’re flying, nor would they care.

Can certainly understand the news in the AvGeek/Corporate circles but not the airline’s IG.

So unless this is accompanied with a closer alliance with QR, or it’s something completely different, this is very odd.

I doubt it’s got anything to do with QR
Probably just some promo or the usual annual points transfer bonus

They did this whole big secret thing last year remember.

It was just for the wonderful campaign.

Highly doubt they would do this for a foreign equity stake. Any QR stake would probably net negative media, any foreign buy in for any local business seems to cop negative feedback, yet when QR was knocked back for rights, everyone was bashing QF. I mean, you never win really!

QR does things a bit more formal also, no trashy insta or TikTok pre empt either.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Bit early for pride flight, that’s Barbie and Ken however, for those who had to endure the Barbie film, roller skates and all match up with the Malibu scene.

Probably some dance or barbie flight. o_O

But bookings might be opening soon for the pride flight!

But a barbie themed plane might be interesting… à la hello kitty. With themed bog roll an’ all!

Google says there’s a pride event in Perth in November.

I’m guessing VA has decided to sponsor.

If QR has indeed bought 20% and intends to interfere contribute to management direction, I wonder whether there will be any more pride flights or sponsorships in the future 🤔
