Hi all, long time lurker first time poster.

Would like some advice if possible. Had booked 2 for 1 for my husband and I Mel-Ool-Mel for next Monday, booked a separate flight for Mast 7, with linked PNR's and specific notes on the booking that he was not an accompanied minor. Had seat allocation in 11A/B/C.

Upon checking flights today Mast 7 has been moved on both flights to different seats on his own. VA basically have advised they are unable to assist as there are not 3 seats together now and that we will have to sit separately. Just wondering if there is any recourse, not a huge deal but just would have preferred to all sit together. Would a request at the lounge on the day be of any benefit?

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Would a request at the lounge on the day be of any benefit?

Hi Rj_louise, I would definitely ask at The Lounge. Staff there are most helpful, and there are always people changing their seating allocation come check-in via Self Serve and OLCI. May luck favour you :D

Even as velocity gold in the past I've had my boarding pass beep at the gate because my seat got changed to accommodate a scenario like yourself.

The seat they moved me to was no better or worse but I was sad only because the beep at the gate made my heart flutter that I thought I had an op-up.

I turned up at PER a few weeks ago and my seat had been changed post OLCI because of an 'equipment change' but when I questioned it no-one was actually in my old seat number and the J cabin was only half full. The slightest thing freaks VA's systems out sometimes. The positive thing is that they are slowly learning from their countless stuff ups even though I would say they are only just elevated from the remedial stream.

Ask at the check-in desk or failing any action there, the lounge. At worst you might have to split up the adults and have the child sitting with one of you, and the other adult sitting elsewhere. If you really want to sit together and OLCI doesn't help you moving yourselves around, the earlier you arrive at the airport the better.

Sabre can't actually link PNRs for seating afaik, can only pre-select together.
