Next month we’re flying VA SYD-NAN-SYD in J (C class). It worked out that we were all going to be in BNE the day before the flight so, rather than book a domestic sector to get home, my TA has booked a VA codeshare flight with DJ from BNE-SYD which, aside from $10 in additional taxes, essentially means we get four domestic seats at no extra cost.

My question is, will we be in Y+ on DJ? It’s C class so I would normally think that we would be, however my TA says there is a note on her system that it will be in Y but she’s not 100% certain that this is the case either. Has anyone done this before with DJ/VA?

You may like to search here for a thread about IainF's wife and a similar connection on DJ for LAX-SYD-BNE. Slight diff as Mrs IainF was booked premium economy but expected it to be PE for the SYD-BNE sector as well, but ...

So probably worth calling Virgin Blue to see which class they believe you will be travelling for the domestic leg.

Thanks NM, that thread makes interesting reading...

The VA call centre won’t speak to me (it’s a TA booking...) and my TA has now decided that she’s pretty sure we’ll be in whY on the short DJ sector as the fare conditions apparently override the class, plus "it’s a free flight”. I’m not bothered for a short domestic run...I was just hoping to give DJ Y+ a whirl.

From VA website, should get Y+

Nice one James :). I sent that link to my TA this morning and she’s managed to get written confirmation from DJ/VA that we’ll be seated in Y+ for the codeshare flight. Thank you very much for the link! (Now I just hope it works that way at check-in).
