It surprises me a bunch that I can't find any reports of this in the news and that no-one else here has picked up on it -- but the VA website now has the SYD-AUH flights loaded, along with all the codeshares on EY. There are some pretty decent whY deals going - if anyone was looking to head to Europe I'd check them out. For random dates in Mar 2011:
MEL-AUH-LHR and return: $1652
MEL-AUH-DUB and return: $1502
MEL-AUH-MUC and return: $1569
MEL-AUH-DME and return: $1494
Those examples are just codeshares on EY metal, and yet cheaper than booking through EY direct. Go figure!
J fares are still a little above par (around $8k return to most destinations - still substantially cheaper than QF), but hopefully that will come down a little.
