VA-Gold to Platnium- A nice post holiday Bonus

A nice little humble brag

The other month I was struggling to get enough points together as I had not flown much and was probably going to loose my Gold status prior to my next big trip to the UK
(booked for April 9th and I had until the 4th of April to get 200 sc)

So me and the GF decided to go to the Goldcoast and booked Business with stops up and back via Sydney, One little bonus that we did not notice at the time was it was when the double status credits deal was happening, So I was able to keep my gold status happily and She was able to go to silver then gold with just one trip.

So on the 9th I flew to Changi then Heathrow with Singapore Airlines in Premium Economy, My experience was not brilliant compared to how much I loved VA Premium Economy to LA.
And on the 19th I came home the same way.

Only to awake this morning and it seems I am now a Velocity Platinum member. I thought I was going to be 100sc short of getting Platinum but it seems my maths was not as good as I thought.


Now my GF is annoyed she is only Gold, But is happy I converted her across to VA.
Time to book another USA trip and enjoy some Platinum benefits as well.

Should credit as R for the PE legs and economy legs with no PE usually is E.

I was pretty happy with the 420, I think when I tried to figure it out it was 350, but I’m still new at trying to sort out what is worth what.

Now to decide what class to fly when we go to LA and Hawaii in July.
Might have to use some of the 900k points I have as well

I, too, am a recently minted Plat thanks to DSC. I was Plat years ago, before economy x, and I think its a great benefit that you can access it even on the cheapest of tickets.
On the list of wants: I am still waiting on the BNE International lounge to materialise and lifetime status would take all my flying to VA.
