There appears to be no facility to enter Advance Passenger Information for travel to the USA in 'manage bookings' with Virgin. How do you do it? Do they ask everyone manually at check in?

What about passengers commencing travel in say, Melbourne and connecting in Sydney to the USA, where do they supply API?

Is there something I am missing here.

I called them after booking and offered them the info, because I thought it was odd the information wasn't requested, and provided it over the phone.

This is my first experience with a long-haul booking on VA - the website for domestic and short-haul has enough quirks but the long-haul web based stuff is horrible. There's pretty much nothing available in terms of self-service. At least the phone staff are good.

They will ask you at check-in. I am fairly sure I told the person at the transit desk in Sydney the info when I last travelled MEL-SYD-LAX. Easiest way is to have it written down and ready to hand over. It doesn't take them long to enter it (although I do agree that it would be better to be able to do it online, along with many other things).

Thanks for the info.

Yes their website is amongst the worst you will ever see from a large and well established online retail business and it is certainly the worst airline website I have used in recent years. It's not just because of layout problems but because it actually does not work.

Singapore's is 100x worse I think!

Have heard people criticise the new SQ site a few times. Initially it did not load well on some browsers but seems stable now. I used it recently and found it fully functional and logical enough.
