Hi AFF
I'm about to book a LHR to PER via AUH trip next week in economy class (I normally fly J Class)
I am platinum with virgin, its basically the same price booking either through Virgin or Etihad. Any experience on who is better to book through with regards to seat selection (does VA platinum even receive better seating on Etihad flights?) Also for any chances of upgrades.
Thank you

VA booking wont let you select seats online. I had to phone VA, get my Etihad PRN, phone Etihad and select seats over the phone. And these were J seats, dont know if Y will allow you to select seats.

You also wont be able to bid on an upgrade if you book via VA.

If I was paying for my seat on EY, I would book via EY so I can try to upgrade but you wont get VA sector recognition or bonus points but can get status credits if you credit them to your VA account.

Edit: I also couldnt select seats online with the EY PRN, hence the phone call.
