Apologies! There's a few variables in this but want to be clear on the details.

I'm a VA Plat who booked a VA coded but SQ operated MEL-SYD-SIN-BKK-SIN-MEL flight in Business Class. (OK the MEL-SYD leg was VA operated but you get the idea!)

I then Family pooled the whole flight (I haven't flown the return yet) to Mrs 777 because the 400 SCs will retain her gold and i've got enough forward bookings to retain platinum easily.

What has confused me is what happens to the plat status bonus in this circumstance:

I read the table as 2 x distance (Because it's in full fare J) + 100% status bonus because I'm Platinum. Eg 4 x distance flown.

But her table, once pooled, shows this:

(Ironically and as and aside the SQ operated flights have posted and the VA MEL SYD one has not).

My question: Is the bonus not quite right here? Should it be 100% of the base? Or do i misunderstand how this works?

Thanks as always!

777.

I thought points earned were;

1. on original class fare purchased, ie J seats at 2 or 1.5 or whatever points per mile for that fare and

2. bonus is 1 point per actual mile flown.

Well that's how I thought it worked on international flights so Ive never questioned the points received.

I had a similar routing in March and I questioned the same thing with VA and the bonus is 100% of the base miles which in the first line is 889 and then 3912. As dumb as it sounds this is correct.

My points credited exactly the same amounts as you have posted
