Has anyone ever managed to redeem Velocity Points successfully on HA?

I found some saver seats, both showing on HA and AA for redemption (HNL-HND). Called VA up today - and they couldn't even see the flight loaded into their system, let alone availability in J. I asked them why this is, and whether they could contact HA to clarify - but they refused/said they couldn't do it.

Sort of at a loss here ... do I just give up on this idea?

I'd just try again another time, with another agent. Could have been a problem with systems at that time, or with that agent.

But reportedly others have done it, and equally if there were significant problems I expect it would have been reported before.

Right, so I tried again yesterday and today. Partner redemptions always seem to route the call to Manila.

Every single search I made, the answer was;
"Sorry there are no scheduled flights available"

This is despite HA and AA both showing Y and J saver availability on all of the days I requested (random dates from March - October 2023). Might shoot off a e-mail to platinum@velocity for clarification

They just aren't trained or cannot be bothered. Easier to say that its not available, than to make an effort to actually provide some decent service. What incentive is there for the agent if they help you find something ? Nothing. VA reward search engine is centuries behind QF. Having to do anything over the phone is like pulling teeth. All I think they have to work with is an ancient command prompt search engine.
