It appears that the VA bag less fares (Lite) have been removed from CBR Routes. Only Saver fares available now(search on CBR to major routes SYD,MEL,BNE,ADL&PER confirms this)
Their product offering is bcoming very inconsistant.. I'm sure the fares were there a few weeks ago. Anyone know when this happened?Nice little $20 increase in lowest fare on CBR MEL.
Was $149 now $169 lead in.

I saw that earlier.. If this is the case I find it very disappointing.

(I was about to say Tiger should move in like they used to fly there... And then remembered who now owns them...)

I've noticed this as well - tired of explaining the Saver Lite baggage rules to mandarins travelling perhaps and want to remove any confusion!

I wonder if punters are happy to pay the extra 10% for removal of the "confusion", time will tell I suppose.

To be honest, I'd be happy if they removed all Saver Lite fares, and consolidated them into Savers. Too confusing.

I always feel compelled to buy the cheaper fare, but I would like the option to upgrade no matter what fare I've purchased. It would also mean complimentary baggage for all pax – which looks pretty good in the marketplace.

MEL-CBR is a frequent route for me so consider me a fan of this small change. Simplicity is good.

Looks like they are also missing from PQQ, CFS , HVB-SYD, HTI-BNE, ROK-BNE, MKY-SYD

And here i am wishing qantas would give me $10 to $20 off for a no bag fare

How do the fares compare with Qantas now?

Interesting to see if they do this for other routes. If Virgin fares and Qantas fares are the same then I won't be flying Virgin unless I am really desperate for status.

The answer is not much.

The going rate is $139 for VA on the SYD-CBR route on a random Thursday in Feb 2015 whilst QF is asking for $149.

BNE-ROK had them a few weeks ago at least. Difficult quandry. No luggage fares = HLO abuse, included luggage fares = 10% more.

Little gotcha fare increases with little or no media is something VA do pretty well.
