About to book my first international flight with velocity points and will be flying with Singapore airlines, I’m looking at 330 days out at the moment on a Saturday, yet the Friday before and Sunday after have cheaper points than the Saturday.
Would this just be a matter of the Saturday cheaper points not been made available yet?

If you're looking at reward tickets redemption, they should be fixed prices! Where are you looking to fly to and from?

Brisbane to coughet April 5 2025
cheapest on 5th is 42,300
cheapest on 6th is 31,000
It seems like 31,000 is the fixed points needed for SQ reward tickets on Velocity and the least stopovers compared to 42,300 which has multiple stopovers and is likely a mixed VA + SQ route. If I were you I'd go for the 31000 ones to save time & points
If it gets confusing use the SQ website to check how many KF points it would take they should be roughly the same as velocity

I've been watching VA awards on SQ BNE-SIN. The award cost never goes down as time goes on. As well SQ releases awards to it's own members at 355 days out. So today on SQ you can book an award on 1/5/25 but on VA it is 7/4/25. So often the SQ saver awards have gone but their may be the higher advantage awards left.

I should have spotted that :)
What are the chances they will add a one stop for the Saturday as some Saturdays in March have them?
Bear in mind that's the first day of the Qld school holidays. I'd either suck it up, or take the Fri or Sun option.

FWIW, it appears that there is quite a bit of SQ availability to Europe in business in March/April next year.

I've been looking at what's available for the last couple of days, and today decided to book BNE-SIN-LHR for 139,000 points plus $490, which I thought was a reasonable deal.

Better to book now than wait until after the next points devaluation (just look at what UA did with Mileage Plus, doubling or trebling many partner business awards).

Good work Cliffford. VA points on SQ continue to remain a solid points redemption with great availability (compared to Qantas).

Where do your travels take you aside from LHR?

On this trip, I'm visiting my sister in the UK and then flying to Thessaloniki (SKG) in BA J. Then a few days in ATH (flying GQ) and on to Istanbul on A3.

After that, back to SIN on SQ in P and on to KUL (TR) and then SYD in J on PR .

Should be nice trip (I hope). I'm not visiting anywhere I've not been to before, so shouldn't be too many (unknown) hassles...
