Hi everyone! With the refurbished planes on the VA Bne-Lax flights where is the bassinet now? We have sat in economy row 20 before and now alocated 21A,B,C for an upcoming flight with infant and child. Is 21 A-C a bassinet position now? Thanks!

Hmmmm oh dear.....

We have previously sat in row 20 in the old config which was the bassient row....

Hoping 21 in the new config has bassinets

Was just on this flight a week ago, had 21 ABC over and 20HJK on the way back

I can confirm that 21ABC/DFG and 20HJK have bassinet spots (these are technically bulkhead seats, and the bulkhead has mounting points for the bassinets).

Thanks!!! And I was wondering the same about the proximity to the toilets
Is 20 better than 21?
Did you pay extra for space +? I haven't but these are the seats we requested before the official roll Out of the refurbished planes so hoping we don't lose the seats or have to pay when we check in.

After experiencing long-haul business class, the only way I could do economy would be in the bulkhead or exit row! Yes I did pay for the space+, as I booked after the seat maps changed (although the base fare was very cheap, otherwise I could have reconsidered). I believe it should be a free benefit for Plats and Golds, but that's another discussion...

If you selected the seats before the new fares and seat maps, I think you should be safe, esp if you require a bassinet.

The minicabin is nice as it means you get served first etc. The economy toilet is in front of 21 ABC. When I was sitting in 20H, a few economy passengers used the toilet in front of these seats, which is labelled for PE passengers, but wasn't enforced. I didn't find the toilets bothersome, as they are both blocked by curtains. Also, fewer economy passsengers seemed to use these front toilets, and there was never really anyone lining up for them.

Note that some of the seats have fixed armrests (from memory 21D has fixed armrests both sides, can't remember the others!). Also, the area directly in front of 21C and 20H has no bulkhead, but rather the aisle as it zigzags in transition from premium to the toilets to economy - this means more room to stretch out, but your feet may be knocked by passengers.

Overall I found the space+ reasonable value for money, but only because my base fare was cheap, and I could get the bulkhead row. I felt it wasn't worth the money or points to pay for PE.

Does anyone have a definitive answer for this?
I'm planning to fly Y+ BNE>LAX next year...

The VA site shows a bassinet icon for J (but then doesn't display it in *any* location), but none for Y+ or Y.

If no one gets back to you before Saturday, I can have a look for you when I operate VA1 for bassinets in Y and Y+ then?

Bassinet rows in Y and Y+:

15 AC DEFG HK
20 HJK
21 ABC DFG
39 DFG only due to the emergency exit in that row.

Enjoy!

Thank you!
Did you spot the J bassinet seats too? I'm thinking I may just book J reward seats....

No problem. I didn't manage to catch those, but I'll definitely have a look for you tomorrow night on the flight home.

I'm in business on a 777 tomorrow, I will check for you. I will especially look closely around the bar area ;)

Booked 2 adults & 2 infants for VA469 PER - BNE for today's flight, rang to confirm Bassinet weeks ago, advised can only request. Tried to check in online with no success. Check in agent only could allocate them a standard row per 2 pax. Overall not impressed that I booked this flight for them with the A330 having 6 Y bassinets & having 2 infants didn't qualify them for these seats?

Thank you!

Ok so in J they are located at 1D and 1G. You take the lids off the top of them and they are fixed, rather than removable. This means as long as you do the netting over the top, you can leave your baby in there if the seatbelt sign goes on. But I'd say that's totally your call.

Have a good trip!

On the new 777 config, I asked in J about bassinets. The FA said they have them in the bulkhead, but the attachment points are covered by a plastic panel unless they are in use. She said it is best to call ahead and request the right seats.
