Va777 row 15 new configuration

Have managed to get a PE reward seat in November 2016. Rare as hens teeth. Unable to get J reward on the week of travel. (J rewards available in the week prior but only Tues,Wed, Thurs)

Question:

Have first row of PE which is now row 15. (In the old configuration PE was Row 10-14)

Can any flyers indicate whether in the old PE seating, is Seat A in PE close enough to the aircraft hull that you could sleep against it?

Yes in the current config the A seats you can rest your head against the hull

If the leg room in row 15 in the new config is the same as row 10 now..... and you are tall .... i would recommend something from row 16 or back as i found row 10 had limited room

VA says 41 inch seat pitch. I suspect they took the extra 3 inch pitch out of the cushions/seat thickness. So maybe 16 might be better. Did you find the recline from seat in front problematic?. Climbing over neighbour?

it can be difficult to get out if the seat in front is reclined, but who knows how it will be in the new config

any updates on the updated PE seats? currently secured 16A, but I can't help buy wonder if row 15 might be better?

I haven't had the bulkhead, but the other rows have a lot of leg room. Almost too much (can't believe it said that), I find it a little hard the brace my feet on the foot rest so I don't... well sort of slide out while trying to sleep. Way over is great but think the old config might have been better for sleeping.

Oh - and the same seats as the old config.

obviously YMMV.

Thank you, that's good feedback, I might just leave row 16 as is, I am sure I will be more comfortable than in Y.

Hi Fingers. I was in 16 today - the bulkhead definitely limits legroom in 15. I wouldn't do it.

BTW - had a better experience with the new Premium Economy than last time, but I still think that I prefer the old configuration.

First time to fly in the new PE config yesterday and sat in 17A. Very happy with it however the seat is placed slightly too far forward past the window so if you're like me and get the window seat to watch the decent into LAX you need to rotate your head quite a bit - that's a minor issue though. FWIW, 15 and 16 don't have this issue.

In full recline with the footrest down, I was able to get a few decent hours sleep. Good food and bev selection and great service in cabin.
