Catching 'On FF

I’m WP with velocity and heading to Vancouver in a few months on VA, Mel - Lax - YVR. It codeshares with Air Canada from Lax to YVR and return.
As I’m flying economy there’s no reciprocal lounge access rights into the maple leaf lounges at YVR.
I thought about doing a status match with Turkish Airlines to acquire Star Alliance gold but I run into two problems there.
It’s a VA flight number so the lounge would presumable not honour a VA codeshare boarding pass even with star alliance status. And two the status match would likely not work as they generally only accept OW and Skyteam status.
Any advice appreciated.
