HI

I am a newbie here and seeking some advice from the travel experts out there!

Firstly, I am a nervous flyer.........I love holidaying but dislike flying, more so since I have had children!

I need to book tickets to Fiji for January. We flew AP in the past, the plane had engine trouble before takeoff which left a sour taste in my mouth.

We flew VA in April this year, which I enjoyed due to a big brand new plane, and loved Biz.

But now VA have pulled out of the route and our money refunded from our January booked trip.

I need to decide between AP, Jetstar or VB.

AP are offering great business fares, but their old fleet keep me worrying...

I dont know whether to book a budget airline with a new plane or stick to the big 747 with AP....

Anyone offer their suggestions??

Any advice much appreciated!:(

Four engines and business class for $1300 return would make the decision easy for me.

Very interesting link - thankyou for that!!:)

Was looking at Business class on AP as the fare was good, saying that Jetstar is pretty cheap. I have to pay for my small children as well, so wondering of I spend the money on Business. We are flying overseas for Easter next year, so this Fiji trip is just a quick getaway.

I like the sound of "four engines", never thought of that!:)

Keep in mind that Jetstar and DJ dont provide kids discounts for children on many of their fares just like QF, makes for an interesting comparison when you look at the fares in J as a comparison:

GREAT comparisons!!!! Thankyou Markis10!!!!

I'm impressed on what you've done for me, you have outlined it so well!:)

I think I will go ahead and book with Qantas as it under $2400 for all of us in business from Syd to nadi, but the return leg is over $1000 each on the date I want. However if I book the return direct with AP it is around $2300 for 2 adults and 2 children business.

Any disadvantage in doing this?

IIRC you won't get any Qantas miles/SC from it.
